Chocolats de Beussent is a treasure trove of chocolate offerings for chocoholoics. It is run by the De Rick family who are serious chocolatiers. They make their chocolates in their factory in the nearby town of Beussent, where visitors can enjoy a tour, and they have their own cocoa plantation in the tiny village Agua Santa in Ecuador, Peru.

Their story starts 50 years ago when the De Ricks were selling lollipops in Africa. In 1985 Bruno Derick started the business in France and this shop in Boulogne is their flag ship shop. Today they have 10 shops dotted around France.

Alan De Rick runs the business on a day-to-day business and explained that contrary to common belief, the quality of a chocolate is not all tied up in the percentage of cocoa, but more to do with the expertise of the maker. To find out you will have to taste some of his chocolates just to make sure.
